Prime example #1: When I was 12 years old ALL I wanted for Christmas was a real dollhouse with electricity. Maybe it was a tall order, but it was all I wanted, and I knew "Santa" would come through. How did I know? Because I heard my mom talking about it on the phone to my aunt. I overheard bits and pieces of, "Megan's Doll house," and, "can we keep it in your basement." I put two and two together.

Rise and SHOUT!
There was definitely a LOT of rising and shouting going on on Saturday. But I can't fully say that the Cougars were out....or at least it didn't feel that way. The feeling in the air was PURE excitement as we entered the stadium, PACKED with crazed fans. The excitement was a bit (and by a bit I mean by an EXTREME amount) deflated as we got, well... creamed. Let's just say the the turn out wasn't exactly what we'd hoped for.

Cabin-ing
You know what? I LOVE fall in Utah. You know what else? I love fall in Utah even more when I am up at the mountains. I am clearly a summer-time girl, (thanks to the teen pop sensation, LFO, for coining that term circa 1999,) however, fall in Utah cannot be beat. It also leads up to Halloween & my B-day in October, which makes me verrrry happy.
This past Friday I took full advantage of what Utah's fall had to offer and we spent a night with a bunch of friends up at my long time bestest bud, Brad Randall's cabin for a night-o-fun. We ate, we played some rambunctious games, and of course snapped some photos. No doi...
(Although I do wish I would have taken some more.)

IT'S ABOUT TIME!
Some weeks fly by.
Some feel long and crazy and tiring. That was this week for some reason.
Lots of work. Lots of Relief Society. Lots of Friends. Which of course means lots of fun...naturally.
I'm just sayin' I'm glad It's Friday.
So many great things to look forward to:
- Cabin Adventure tonight
- Sleeping in tomorrow
- Saturday gym time. I am in LOVE with spinning (Thanks to sweet Janae...aka best teacher ever.)
- BYU game...Roxy found me a ticket this morning. (Yep, She won Friday) I seriously can't wait!
- Relaxing. I plan on trying to squeeze that in there somewhere!
Happy Friday to all!

Oh heeeeey Thurl.
So it turns out I really am shorter than I think I am. Especially when you put me next to Thurl Bailey. On Saturday night I went with Roxanne to a charity benefit for Tifie, a charity that works with children in the Congo. It was such a random funny night, but so much fun.
Roxy is doing an internship with Interface Foundation which works with charities and celebs to change the world. Her boss invited her to this Tifie event, and told her she could bring some friends, so Beth and I tagged along.
We were told to dress, "smart casual." What does that even mean? We thought it was funny. Roxy googled it, and turns out there really is such a thing. Next time I have a party I'm just going to make up some sort of dress code that totally throws people off like, "Elegant Denim," or "Trendy Causal." I'm sure it'd be fun to see what people come up with.
We met up with her boss Scott, his wife Heidi, and some of their friends (looking fantasticly smart and casual) and ventured up together in a 15 passenger van. It was sawweeeeeeet. When I say "ventured up" we really did venture. The charity event was held at the Tifie Ranch in Morgan, UT. In case you weren't aware that is about 2 hours north of Provo. I think the population doubled when we got there. A very pretty place though. Scott is pretty much hilarious and kept us laughing the whole way up, which made for a good time.
The cabin was beautiful. It was all solar powered, very cool. We had some dinner up there and then we were serenaded by Thurl Bailey. He was a former Jazz player, and I didn't seem him as a singer, I'll be honest, but he had a great voice.
After the evening was over, and after we snapped a quick photo with Thurl; we stopped off at the local 7-11 and headed back down to P-Town. Diet cokes in hand. Good times in Morgan. Good times.

Seth Blaine Smith September 10, 1977 - September 18, 1994
I think about my brother Seth often. Especially in September. His birthday is today and next week on the 18th will mark 15 years since he was killed. It definitely doesn't feel like it's been 15 years. I can remember him perfectly. He was always smiling, such a happy fun-loving guy. He was so nice to everyone. His gravestone is engraved with the words, "Our blue sky and sunny day." I think that is a perfect description of him. I miss him so much, but I feel so much comfort in knowing that I will one day be able to run up and give him a HUGE hug. I can't wait for that day :) I don't have a picture of him on my computer which I'm sad about, but I searched the Deseret News and found his obituary. Our beloved son, brother and friend had his young, promising life cut short in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, Sept. 18, 1994. Seth Blaine Smith, 17, of Orem was born September 10, 1977 in Salt Lake City. He was the son of Leslie R. and Elaine Wayment Smith. He was a junior at Orem High School and an honor roll student. He loved all sports, hiking, music and drawing. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held the office of Priest in the Orem Northridge 7th Ward. He is survived by his parents of Orem; two brothers and three sisters, Jason Smith, Boulder, Colo.; Tyler and Nancy Smith, Salt Lake City; Nichole and Denny Barney, Provo; Lindsey Smith and Megan Smith, both of Orem; his grandmothers, Carol Smith, and Cleone Wayment and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ralph Smith and Blaine Wayment. Funeral services under the direction of Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem will be held Thursday, September 22, at 1 p.m. in the Northridge 7th Ward Chapel, 150 East 1750 North, Orem. Friends may call from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the ward chapel. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Seth will always be remembered as fun-loving, happy and energetic. His passing will leave a void in the lives of those who knew him. He will be greatly missed. I miss you and love you Seth!

Papa Les & Lainey...
I really do think marriage is a miracle. The fact that two people find each other...and the timing works out...and they actually both like each other at the same time...and they want the same things...and they both want to settle down. Miraculous. (I realize that sentance was a HUGE run on. Don't judge my gramatical skills!) But seriously. All I can say is i'm so glad it worked out for these two fine individuals.
My parents are so awesome. Seriously. I can't even begin to list the incredible qualities that they both have. They have been such great role models for us kids, and I'm so glad they found each other. Happy anniversary M&D!! I LOVE YOU! xoxoxo

Diet Cokes
It usually goes a little something like this...
"Megs, what are you doing right now?"
"(fill in the blank with various answer)"
"Wanna go to Crest and get a coke?"
"Do you even have to ask?"
