LOST

I officially addicted.
I just finished season 4 yesterday...and let me tell you I didn't see some of that coming.
Season 5 has been recording on my DVR, and I can hardly wait to continue.
Rumor has it the craziness ensues.
Where do they come up with this stuff? Pure genius.

is it tomorrow yet?

I think there are two kinds of days.
The days where I feel accomplished. Like I got to do the things I needed to, or wanted to do.
Then there are the days where I feel like I'm extremely inadequate. Like, no matter what I do, or how hard I work it's not sufficient.
Today was one of those days, and I didn't like it one bit.
I'd like to think of myself as a hard worker. I don't like to do things 1/2 way or leave jobs unfinished, and I don't like when people think I'm a slacker. I really like my work setup, and I feel lucky to do something I enjoy. Today, however, I left work feeling not so accomplished, not so fulfilled, and not so good at what I do...not my favorite combo.
I came home and Roxy had a similar day. We decided we're going to go get frozen yogurt and go to yoga to make ourselves feel better.
Tomorrow will be a brand new day.

Snow Snow Go Away...

I'm ready for this winter to be over....you?

Happy B-day Nichole!!

N*I*C*H*O*L*E
HAPPY B-DAY!!
This is my oldest sister.
Today is her Berfday.
She's pretty much amazing in every way possible.
She is sweet as can be.
She is incredibly kind, generous, genuine, smart, spiritual, dedicated, an amazing mom/sister/friend, smokin' hot....I could go on and on and on...She's awesome.
When I was little and I'd scream my parents would put me out on the porch and lock the door. (They are the greatest people ever I promise. I'm just a royal pain...Love you M&D) I remember Nichole coming out and getting me to stop crying and bringing me back inside. She's always looked out for me, and been the super cool older sister that let me and Linds tag along. (We are also both super cool, so I can see why...) ANYWAYS.
Nich - You're amazing! I wish I was in AZ with you to celebrate. Have the BEST day ever!! xoxoxo

It's all in how you look at it

Today I have been thinking a lot about perspective. Day in and day out we are faced with situations that determine who we are. These decisions can be big or small. They can have lasting effects or be instantaneously forgotten. They can change us into better people or break us down to forget who we are. The outcomes of all of these decisions have to do with our current perspective. I am one that often times has a hard time looking at the "big picture." I am patient when I want to be, but sometimes longevity is almost the death of me. I like to know what to expect. For years and years I feared going on roller coasters because I didn't know how I was going to react to them, I didn't know what to expect. My perspective was zeroed in on what I knew previously. As soon as I was finally strapped on the Mickey Roller Coaster by some dear loving friends, I LOVED every second of it. My perspective was broadened. I realized I hadn't been aware of what I was missing out on. My eyes were opened to something new. Something unexpected.
I look at my life now and I realize that far to often I have a narrowed perspective instead of trying to look at the bigger picture. I think in "mealtimes" instead of thinking in "birthdays" so to speak, and it is a hard habit to break. I think it's one that we most likely can't break on our own. I have been studying a lot about our Savior's grace, and the divine strength and power that it can bring to us. This is one situation where I feel like this grace is not just necessary, but crucial. We don't know where our path is going to lead us in 5 years. We don't know all of the "who's" and the "what's." BUT, we do know that if we strive to live the best life we know how we'll be led in the right pathway. We'll be given the answers as they are needed. We will have our eyes opened, and at times we may even be strapped on that roller coaster when we can't get on by ourselves, only to find that we're SO glad to have been taken for the ride. We can't see the end from the beginning, but we do know that if we try our hardest we'll get there with the help of our loving Savior.

RaNDom MuSIngS...

- It's FRIDAY! I get so excited for Fridays. Which is funny because since I'm not in school every night has the capabilities of being a weekend night. AND I actually really enjoy having a schedule. So, come Sunday night I get excited for Mondays again. I'm strange I know.
- Today's outfit consists of hair back, sweatshirt, skinny jeans, uggs....aren't Fridays supposed to be the days you get all dolled up? oops... I accidentally went for comfort instead... my sweatshirt has crowns on it? Does that count for something?
-Facebook went and changed things up again. Who do they think they are? Oh wait...they have millions of online-obsessed people at their mercy and can do whatever they dang well please. That is very tricky of them.
-My roommates are da BOMB.com. seriously. Sometimes I just have to stop and think about how much I FREAKING love them. I think they make me laugh like 98.9% of the time I am home.
-Funny how these certain roomies (that I LOVE) always make fun of me for measuring out my cereal every morning. {please direct all questions, comments, concerns, on the cereal measuring to www.munchercruncher.blogspot.com} and YET, I have seen two certain roomies measuring out THEIR cereal this past week...hmmmm...
-I love strawberry mentos.
-Michael Scott as Willy Wonka was Phenomenal.
-It's time for SUMMER already! I am about two months past ready. I went tanning this week to show winter that it's reign is over. That's right winter. I'll show you. I want laying out, DDP, and flip flops on the agenda.
-That's all for now.

Our Saturday Morning Outing

On Saturday morning Benita, Roxy, Amber, and I went up to Draper to go check out the new temple. It was so much fun for the following reasons:
-Saturday Mornings for me usually consist of a whole lotta running. BUT I knew we were going to be busy, so I got my 16 miles in on Friday instead. It felt good to be done early :)
-I got to see Amber Dawn Thomas Griffiths, an adorable past roommate and present friend who is one of the cutest little preggers I've ever seen. (She and her hubby live in Logan, but they were here for the weekend.)
-The Draper temple is absolutely breathtaking. I loved all of the intricate detail that went into the construction. It is very clear that it's such a sacred important place, and nothing was overlooked. The artwork, the upholstery, the moldings...it was beautiful. AND the chandelier in the celestial room was mesmerizing. I want one...
-The bus ride to the temple from the stake center was terrifying, and hilarious at the same time. I was standing by one of the bus doors because it was pretty packed, and I was basically ready to be ejected from the bus at any moment. I didn't have anything to hold on to, so it was a little rough. Roxy and I were thinking up what the Newspaper captions might read had it really happened...we came up with some good ones.
-We went to eat at Paradise Bakery on the way home...it was deeelish!

Roxies and I
Benits and Amber
(I didn't get a pic with Amber, or Benita, or all 4 of us together due to a mishap with the return busride to the stake center..sad day...)
